I currently have black hair. I bought a color stripper for my hair and I am told it will turn my hair an orange color. I just got some purple passion hair dye and am wondering how well it'll show up. Has anyone used this before?

Re: Beyond The Zone Purple Passion
Thu, January 25, 2007 - 3:52 PMFor purple, you typically need to go lighter than orange. Usually it looks good at forst, but after a couple of days of fade, the orange really shows through and isn't so pretty.
If it goes LIGHT orange, you should be ok probably. -

Thu, January 25, 2007 - 4:07 PMI got 2 of each product. Would I be better off dying my hair a blonde color after I strip the color then? -

Re: Beyond The Zone Purple Passion
Sat, January 27, 2007 - 9:00 AMthe color remover will only strip the hair to close to what color it was before the black and pretty much only if it was somewhat recently colored. I would return the color remover and get some bleach, mix with 40 volume peroxide (cream) and bleach out some chunks to a light yellow and then apply the purple passion.
To strip the color and bleach would be super damaging to your hair. The bleach will do it one shot. It may take as long as 60 minutes to lighten the color to pale yellow though, watch the color carefully.
Best and have fun! -
