I'm bored and I need something new. I want to try something neat, but not too crazy. My hair is pretty long, and I'm through with the whole "I want to grow it out, natural" phase. Any ideas?

Tue, April 13, 2004 - 9:36 PMI think I've only once done it all in one fell swoop, and even then I left the bangs. It was an awful f*cking lot of hair, though, that's for sure! Mine is not wavy like yours was, so it might not have looked as impressive, but there is about three tons of it.
Otherwise, it's a bad short haircut, then a bad shorter haircut, then a few weeks of being miserable, and finally I remember that the way I like my hair best is shaved with the 1/4" guard (mine don't have the usual numbers, which I find horribly upsetting 'cause I have no idea how long a #1 or #3 guard is) and just the bangs left long. No matter where I go with my hair, this seems to be where I eventually wind up. I should just accept that it's going to be this way, and get used to shaving my head every few weeks.
How recent is your baldness? Has anyone licked your freshly-shaven head yet? -

Wed, April 14, 2004 - 11:36 AMWell, I actually had mine shaved because of a lost bet...long story...probably not appropriate for this tribe forum. I have been bald since the end of November and actually have to stay this way until the of May (thought it was the end of April but then figured out why I hate math). It has been licked and carressed a few times, definitely found out that it is another erogeneous zone for me.

Wed, April 14, 2004 - 9:14 AMI tried them once in high school. They look horrid on me, and I can't help but feel dirty with them. I'm thinking color, but nothing seems to come to mind right now.
And I am definately not gutsy enough for a shaved dome. I hide behind my hair half the time. -

Wed, April 14, 2004 - 12:15 PMdon't get one of those damn faux 80's punk mullets. ugly, if you want to keep the length and but playing it maybe an asymetric cut, for colour you could do that shunking thing that is popular, i like fade colouring myselve or hair cuts that work the colour into the cut. different color bangs or fringe are fun and easy to re dye. sign wish i could colour mine. -

Wed, April 28, 2004 - 3:16 PMI wish I could do the bangx like yours. when I last tried that, even after a fair amount of products, about halfway through my day, the bangs would form a part. I'm kinda waiting on the fun colors till I get settled into a new job.
But I do like the idea of working color and cut in together.

a) bleach the majority of my hair and leave small streaks of my natural color.
b)dye the majority of my hair either dark auburny, or nearly black, save for the bottom layers. (mid ear and down)
what do you all think? Serious need of some change, but a little afraid as I'm looking for a job. -

I actually do have bangs right now (pinned back in the photo) and sadly, I do use volumizing shampoo/conditioners. I have rather thin hair that is usually rather straight in most areas and pretty wavy in others. It's like me and can't make up it's mind.
By the way, I think I've decided to do the bottom bit of my hair in a dark dark reddish maroon color and a couple of white highlights up top. Maybe later on, those highlights will go pink again.

Wed, April 28, 2004 - 5:41 PMsounds great. oh and if you are wordered about work dye the underside a wild color nd have the overlaying hair be more normal colored. you have such long hair it would work. when you want to be more wild you wear it up or wear the upper hair in braids, pigtails etc. color tips like you are doing sound fun too. as for bangs i actually have a cowl-lick in the front and we had to play with it to get the bangs right. assymetrical bangs work great with difficult bangs. my hair is super fine-don't go crazy with product. i use some crazy french leave in conditioner and a bit of wax. -

Wed, April 28, 2004 - 6:33 PMyeah, what I meant is that the underside will be the dark part, and the top bits normal(stupid layers will actually work for me) It's a bit like what I've got now with the natural tones as my hair tends to bleach out a lot from the sun. Looks nice with a braid which is why I am going for the new do. Does wax work well? I've not used it as I have a tendancy to run my hands through my hair when I am thinking. -

Wed, April 28, 2004 - 11:27 PMjust a little bit not alot. and use it for the fringe/bangs not the hole head. instead of using condition in the shower-doesn't work great for super fine hair anyways. use just little bit for the long wavey part of your hair. with the right kind of wax or putty you can still play with your hair.
