Up until recently, I have had to keep my hair a normal color. My new job lets me do whatever. I want blue.
My problem is that I have naturally thin fine hair. I've been dying it a yellow blonde for a long time. And I have about an inch of dishwater blonde coming in.
I was wondering, does anyone have any suggestions for a dying pattern or color? I've got leftover Manic Panic Atomic Turquoise and After Midnight Blue. My last color was the turquoise on the tips.
Should I bother to dye the roots first? I'd like to avoid too much bleach. Can people with thin hair pull off the layered dye look?
Oh, and my hair is about waist length, if that makes a difference.
I'd surely appreciate any help you could provide.

Re: The Blues
Thu, March 16, 2006 - 10:21 PMMy hair is thin and I always do layered colors. I think it looks fine. I would definitely do your roots so that everything is the same color to start, unless you want your roots darker.
My suggestion, go stripey. Like, all of it dark blue with the lighter color as big (an inch or so) streaks through it almost like highlights.
Have fun!! Hooray for cool jobs that let you have fun hair!!
