Hello -

I posted here a while ago, but lost the account details *blush* but - tadaaaa - am back, "new & improved" ;D

Anyhoo - I've been making fake falls (loose & dreads) for some years, and have ordered some microring equipment from Dr Locks (bah, still waiting for the last part) so I'm looking for willing subjects for synth extensions!
I can get almost any colour & hair quality, granted, some of the more extravagant might take a little time, but you'd only pay for the hair, which normally doesn't amount to a lot.

I'll be DJing at House Of Voodoo (www.houseofvoodoo.com/events.shtml) tomorrow night, if anyone wants to say hi, I'm the dark-haired (ehr, well, possibly with colored falls, who knows ;P ) of the 2 female DJs!

Or, of course, drop me a line here :)

Synth hair is mostly what you pay for - some hair is almost as expensive as human hair, and looks great "forever" and some is "a-dime-a-dozen", and gets ratty at the drop of a hat.
The cool things with these microrings, is that they can be opened and closed again, for pulling the hair up/tightening when it grows out.
I've been putting in fake extentions on myself using a regular gluegun, it worked just fine on my hair, but I don't think I'll recommend it, it's not supposed to be very good for the hair, and some people have bad problems getting the glue out when it grows out!
For long lasting, high quality extentions I'd recommend hair brands called Dome or ProStyle, but regular Toyokalon or Kanekalon, at 4-6 $ per pack, should keep well, too.
Regular brushing should keep it looking good, and Kanekalon hair can be shaped at low temperature.
Most colors, natural and extravagant, can fairly easily be purchased, or blended!

          I can indeed :D

I just got an e-mail from Dr Locks, the needle I need got shipped by regular mail yesterday, so I guess it'll be here in a week +/-...

In the meanwhile - d'you want me to order the hair? I'll be happy to, no "extra charge" (hehehe) - I'll be ordering hair today or Monday anyway.

Check out the colors & let me know which you'd like - the prices are there, too:
          www.drlocks.net/straight_b...ng_hair.htm
I'll *strongly* recommend the "Silky Straight Braid $3.99 Best quality 100% Kanekalon fiber"...
          Color chart: www.drlocks.net/Color%20Chart.htm

The African American (well, it's actually run by Asians, heh) beauty salon near my house has the same brand, but not as good range in colors.

If you want more colors, I also order from Europe - the colors are "to die" for, and the quality of the hair is actually similar to hair that would cost more, maybe more than double, if I got it in the US, even with shipping costs included.
That is $8 per bundle though, plus shipping. It takes a couple of weeks to get here too, unless sent by expensive super-express :)
(For price comparasin: www.domeshoponline.com/shop_us/erol.html > Hair Extension Products > Monofibre)

Oooh - and what's the color of your own hair? The microrings comes in black, dark brown, brown, red auburn and blond!

i think my natural haircolor is dark brown
i went briefly to the sites you suggested
i think i'd like a mix of colors
like a bunch of different reds
red, wine, burgandy, red hot, red auburn
            and a little dark brown
how many colors do you think i should get?
i really am open to your suggestions
i'll be away until late sunday night
so, if it has to get postponed, or whatever
            thats okay
