i have a question....
i seemingly possess nothing but WHITE sheets. gah! is it the case that when i switch to a professional dye job which utilized more quality dye that it wont bleed onto my sheets, or shall i go ahead and dye them all a dark color now? -snort-
thnx!

Sat, August 20, 2005 - 3:48 PMHow about an old towel over your white pillow case until your hair stops bleeding? -

Sat, August 20, 2005 - 6:02 PMI think it's type of dye and your hair more than quality. Semi-permanent dyes like SFX and Manic Panic tend to bleed in the beginning unless you've got really thirsty hair and did a really light coat. I don't think I've ever had permanent dyes bleed. -

Sun, August 21, 2005 - 4:32 AMI've had permanent dyes bleed -- but only for a few nights. And I tend to go for *bright* permanent dyes. -

Mon, August 22, 2005 - 11:11 PMRighteous! thanks, yall~
I'm gonna go perm with it. We also just found out that my girls' elementary school has no rules regarding hair style and/or color. yes! So, we're gonna move forward with the extensions and color braid-in for her too.
(she's got artificial dye allergies. (!!!) d00d.. sux!!! so she has to go for braid-ins instead of dye. but it works.) :) el yay!
thnx again for the personal experience relays. xoxo -

Wed, August 24, 2005 - 4:22 PMNot 100% on this but isn't Special Effects veggie-based? Although I'm sure there are other nasties in there that she'd react to. There has to be something out there that's non-allergenic. Maybe you could use beet juice!!
Also, on a school-related note, you might want to confirm with her teacher that it's ok. I'm not sure how old your daughter is, but last year my step-daughter was in 1st grade and I put a blue streak in her hair and it ended up becoming a distraction in class because it drew the attention of other kids. We didn't get in trouble or anything, but I know it affected her behavior in class. If your daughter's older and/or more mature it shouldn't be a big deal but I thought I'd give you a heads-up.
